I picked up a fake Fender Stratocaster guitar at my local used music store. Within a few seconds I realized it was a fake. Someone had rubbed off the Squier logo from the headstock and put a fake Fender waterslide on it. In this video I compare this fake Fender Strat to two real USA Fender Strats, a MIM strat and a Squier Strat. Here are the things I identified as a fake... Truss rod opening, Bridge, Serial number, Headstock, Logo, tuners and more. This is a must watch to spot a fake Fender Guitar.

In this lesson we're looking at the intro to Killing Floor, as covered by Jimi Hendrix. This is a fast, syncopated rhythm that Jimi played so fast that it's hard to make sense of what you're hearing. How to repair Marshall 1960B Tolex tears, I have owned dozens of these cabs over many years and these are my tips:


You need some tools: something to scrape dirt dust or glue goo from UNDER the torn tolex flap. I like to use: Xacto knife, pocket knife, flatblade screwdrivers but PREFER to use paint can opener tip because it slides under the edge.

You will need these supplies: yellow formaldehyde-based wood glue (or white glue if you can't get wood glue), masking tape, soap and water, grubby soft towel (or old tee-shirt) and scrub brush. Also, you may find these useful: Scotch-Brite abrasive scrub pad, rough sand paper (120 grit or less) and nail-polish remover (or preferrably lacquer thinner / acetone if you have that.)

This demo has the back, handles, and grille removed but you don't have to do that just to fix tears. So don't feel you have to go this.

A clip here on YouTube has the factory manager bemoaning the old solvent-based cements, going so far as to praise the Neoprene water-based as superior "..because you can tack it back down when torn with just a hair dryer - JUST HEAT IT UP AND HOLD!" Doesn't work, go ahead and try it.

FIRST you must clear the bonding surfaces of dirt and goo, then push some glue in with your finger, then wipe excess and add tape! YOU CAN use white school glue like Elmer's if you have to, but you need every bit of filth and old glue between surfaces to be removed for a good bond.

If your cab has grime, grease, oils or beer filth - you have to WASH the cab first because the tape won't stick, and you want a clean surface. Use warm, soapy water and a scrub brush - then dry cab with a rag quickly and look for standing water. Standing water stains the grille, don't let water come near bare wood or cloth surfaces.

Also: modern Marshalls are using a poor water-based substitute for the original rubber contact cement that worked SO WELL for 30 years. It's called "neoprene adhesive" and has ZERO V.O.C. solvents, to keep the Climate Theory religion in business but it doesn't bond and NEVER dries.

If your torn Tolex is 2002 or before, and has a yellow glue on the fabric backing you got no problem. But if it is BLACK, and pulls off in gobs with your fingernail, you got Neoprene glue and you have to scrape it off before glueing or it won't bond.

Other goos or grime like duct-tape or stage gaffer tape residue may require removal by heavy solvent scrubbing with a rag and Lacquer Thinner or - worst case situation - Acetone. These can be had from hardware stores or Home Depot by the quart.

Ask questions, subscribe and comment. For best results do this above 70* degrees F or on a sunny day outside. Otherwise do it indoors and leave to dry 24 hours!

I just wanted to note, my amp volume was set a bit high during the high gain playing and as a result, the compressor in my camera made the guitar and amp sound MUCH thinner they really do. After hearing the playback I've decided I'm going to look into getting my amp mic'd for future videos.

My original O20 that I modded to JCM800 spec is back on the bench, lets see if it can become a hot 20w plexi! This one gets it's voltages tuned in to be similar to a Plexi running with a Variac, and we also implement a PPIMV which makes the amp super useable.

In this video I explore and demonstrate what happens when cranking a valve amp into power amp distortion! I have decided to use 3 very different amps - the Marshall Origin 20 which I think relies heavily on it's power being distorted for that classic Marshall tone. At the other 2 ends of the spectrum, I have the EVH 5150lbx which has a lot of preamp gain and a Laney VC15 which has no preamp gain at all. Hopefully this will make it clear what power amp distortion actually sounds like and how to achieve it! Please subscribe for more content coming soon.

This clip is a portion of my feature-length documentary, Sing Sing Thanksgiving, recorded in 1972 at the prison in Ossining NY outside of New York City. We got permission to present the concert from the Warden and took full of it to create and then record this incredible event plus tell the lives of some of the inmates who helped make it happen.

Regarding the Sing Sing prison performance, B.B. King said in an interview with NPR:
"I've played a lot of prisons since but Sing Sing is the only one that I can remember the name of and the reason is because I was scared. I thought it was the end of my life."

The experience was an emotionally charged one for King who was initially apprehensive about performing at the prison. However, the performance turned out to be a success, with the inmates showing great appreciation for the music. King's fears were alleviated, and the event left a lasting impression on him. He considered it is absolutely best performance up until that time.

B.B. King, born Riley B. King, was a highly influential blues singer and guitarist who became popular for several reasons:

B.B. King's unique guitar playing technique that included finger vibratos and string bending helped create a signature sound. His approach to the guitar was both melodic and expressive which made him stand out from other blues musicians. King's iconic Gibson guitar, which he named "Lucille," became synonymous with his musical identity.

B.B. King had an incredible ability to convey emotions through his music. His soulful, impassioned singing, coupled with his expressive guitar playing, allowed him to forge a deep connection with his audience.

As perfectly demonstrated in this clip, BB King was a captivating performer who could command the attention of his audience through his natural charisma and engaging stage presence. His storytelling and anecdotes between songs made his concerts an intimate and unforgettable experience.

Over his long career, B.B. King released more than 50 albums and maintained a rigorous touring schedule, performing over 200 shows per year at his peak. This relentless work ethic and dedication to his craft helped him amass a surprisingly large loyal following.

While B.B. King was a blues musician at heart, his music transcended genres and appealed to fans of rock, jazz, and R&B. Collaborations with other prominent artists like Eric Clapton, U2, and Bonnie Raitt further expanded his audience.

BB King is one blues legend. Born in 1925 in a small town in Mississippi, he knew thanks to 'Lucille' (the nickname for his guitar) to escape a miserable existence as a cotton picker. In the late 1940s he arrived in Memphis where his cousin Bukka White taught him the tricks of the blues. He soon developed his own style. Kings virtuoso, narrative solos, with lots of vibrato and long strokes, have been an example for almost all (rock) guitarists after him. And all King is a bluesartist pur sang, he has never been averse to other genres and also worked with pop acts like U2 and Eric Clapton. Despite his age, he is still at the top: Kings last album, One Kind Favor, has been awarded a Grammy, like many previous records. In the meantime, the Eighties continues undiminished, with each acting at his age a gift for his audience.

Marcus Jidell plays his own Marshall JCM900 50W Hi Gain Dual Reverb. The basic mod is done on this one. Both channels are changed, the original diode clipping circuit is cancelled and true tube gain and distortion is now working. More bottom end is added and the sound comes out less static, with more dynamics and a warm living character!

Here I have compiled a group of five adjustments and wiring mods to brighten a dark or muddy sounding Humbucker.
Often guitarists complain about the neck pickups being to dark.
This video gives a good range of solutions that should be able to bring you closer to the sound yo want or at least inspire you to experiment.
The first adjustment is to pickup height.
1. Increasing the distance a pickup is away from the strings quite often impoves clarity.
2. Raising the pole pieces can brighten your sound also.
3. Removing the pole pole pieces brightens a pickup quite dramatically.
4. Wiring a humbuckers coils in parallel can reduce bass and increase treble.
5. Installing a capacitor across one coil of a humbucker can enhance highs and change the overall frequency response very dramatically. This is something I have been working on for a while now and even though I conceived this idea there would have to be someone else out there who has done it before.

Music Production - How To Record Amazing Clean Guitar Sounds!

In this episode I will show you techniques for recording clean guitars through a combo amp - in this case a Vox AC30. I demonstrate how to mic with 2 microphones and also the Front and Back mic technique. In this video I am using a Shure SM57 on one speaker and a Sennheiser MD421 on the other. You can also use an SM57 with a large or small diaphragm condenser mic.

Retro roots-rocker JD McPherson met up with Premier Guitar’s John Bohlinger before his set at Nashville’s Mercy Lounge to reveal how he coaxes old tones out of new gear.

The coolest axe in McPherson’s arsenal is this custom guitar built by TK Smith. It’s based on the Smith Special model, but with a Gretsch Jupiter Thunderbird-style body. The bird’s-eye maple body features Smith’s custom C.A.R. pickups and a custom Bigsby-style tailpiece. TK Smith puts a hybrid set of Thomastik-Infeld flatwound strings on his guitars when they leave his shop, but McPherson said he couldn’t bend them as much as he liked so he’s using D’Addario Pure Nickel .011s.

Filling out the lineup is a Fender Classic ’50s Telecaster with a Curtis Novak pickup in the bridge and a TK Smith CC II in the neck. On this guitar, McPherson prefers to use a custom set of D’Addario Chrome Jazz Light Flat Wounds: .011, .014, .018, .028, .038, .048.

Notes about the 'One Song' series:

The idea for the 'One Song' series came about when I was trying to come up with a cool idea for my next EPIC/MEGA amp comparison with around 30 amps. So I came up with the idea of writing a song in multiple styles that would do a good job of 'testing' the versatility of an amp. It would start clean and end with metal. And I thought it could be interesting to use multiple guitars, so one for each section. Then I realised that it would be cool to release each amp's video individually first and when I'm all done I'll upload a compilation that would essentially be similar to all my other mega comparisons, including all the timecodes etc. This will be called: 'One Song, 30 Amps!'.

So that's the plan basically! However, I'm also planning on running the song through some modeling platforms to also demo those and see how well they can work with all the material in the song.

I've chosen to NOT use the same IRs for each segment this time because I want to use cab tones that the amps are 'comfortable' with. So don't view this as a direct comparison of the amps per say, but view it as an amp showcase that also allows you to hear how the amps function inside the song or inside the music, of course in comparison to one another in that sense! This will showcase the uniqueness of the amps more, which is more fun imho, and it also allows me to be a little bit more creative when reamping each amp. Plus: some of you guys will say 'they all sound the same' anyway and the different cab sounds will make the amps sound more interesting and unique!

For the metal segment I'll very likely use a boost pedal for most of the amps, just so you metalheads or djentheads can hear how a downtuned baritone with a boost sounds with the amp.

Anyway, I hope you guys will enjoy this series and I hope I made the song interesting enough to listen to it a couple times (because I don't expect anyone to watch all 30 or more amp videos lol).

Bugera 1960 Infinium (Marshall Plexi On A Budget?)

In this video I take a look at an amp that a few people have asked me to review. It's the 1960 Infinium by Bugera. It kind of looks like a Marshall Plexi. It's a 150 watt tube amp, and while it's supposed to sound like a Marshall of old, and while it looks the part (kind of), it's about 1500 euros (roughly 1650 dollars) cheaper than the Marshall 1959 Plexi reissue, and 1200 euros cheaper than the 1987x reissue. That's quite a lot of money.

Anyway, no one cares about all that if it sounds bad. So check out the video to see how it sounds.

In late 2009 a successful campaign was launched by Jon Morter and his then wife Tracy to promote an alternative to the omnipresent X-Factor winner being the Christmas #1 in the UK singles chart. The track they nominated as the alternative was “Killing In The Name” by Rage Against The Machine. The band supported the campaign, donated the proceeds from the sales to charity and lead singer Zack de la Rocha promised that Rage Against The Machine would perform a free concert in the UK to celebrate the achievement. This went ahead in London’s Finsbury Park on 6th June 2010 and is captured on this film. It is an exuberant performance by the band with the audience cheering them all the way to the inevitable climax of “Killing In The Name”.

The stock QuadRail bridge pickup has been replaced with DiMarzio Super Distortion for this demo.Bridge humbucker is the only pickup that is being used when the sustainer driver is engaged.
Zajdi Zajdi is a Macedonian folk song composed by Aleksandar Sarievski,although there are claims that it should be considered a Bulgarian folk song,and is often attributed to other Balkans nations.
I thought it was very well suited to demonstrate the long sustain on this guitar.

This was filmed at Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh, January 24, 1986 by Greg Savage of Savage Guitar Design and was used with his permission. Greg was a roadie / tech at the time and knew Stevie well, I had an email conversation back then with Greg and he told me the background story. He was happy to share the video here.

I remastered in 2012 to remove VHS degradation for greatly improved sound and video quality. It was was posted here first in 2013 unfortunately it has been duplicated by a few other users without permission and to the detriment of sound quality.

Either way it has had a huge impact and as a life long fan I'm happy to present this video to help keep Stevie's memory alive and to introduce his great work to younger generations.   I have had many great messages from young people who are just now discovering this legend of modern blues.

The JCM 900 Dual Reverb amps have a reputation for being trebly and thin sounding and this one was no exception. After realizing the preamp uses solid state op amps for it's initial gain stages, my old school mods couldn't be done. After some research, I found a modification online known as the "Liam Mod". I am by no means an amp tech, but after reading online that "lead dress" is the main culprit for this severe tremolo tick, I decided to open up the Deluxe Reverb and do some careful poking around (since I bought it used and have no claims to a factory warranty).

It appears to me that on the V5 tube, which runs the tremolo opto-oscillator (a small light that blinks in sync with the tremolo effect, you can see it on the circuit board in black shrink tubing to the left of the tube socket), the simplest rule I can describe is the green and blue wires do not like each other. Try to push them away from each other as much as possible. You could potentially use small zip ties to make sure they stay apart, but for now I just bent the wires away from each other. The interference between them is about 98% eliminated just by separating them.

All-tube time machine allows you to go back to the 1960's with The Wiggler's recreation of the most sought-after modulation effects that until now were only found in classic amps. Clear and defined amplitude modulation and vibrato with the vacuum tube warmth that older generations once took for granted.

Hey everyone, I hope this finds you all well, safe and healthy. In this video, you can see some of what we’ve been up to during these times. We managed to get everyone together for a week at a time to film and record promotional material for this new record. We also managed to film what amount to our very own television specials (for lack of a better term). There are musical guests, surprise songs, old favorites, songs we’ve never played before, etc.

We took every precaution possible. We tested everyone. We supplied masks, hand sanitizer and we social distanced as much as we possibly could. This is the new reality. There are a lot of different ideas as to when we should reopen and get back to “normal”. Make no mistake, we (@TheMavericks) wish we could reopen and venues could have live music again. However, none of that is going to happen if we (as a country) continue to do what we’ve been doing and not take this seriously. The live music that we all want to return to is not going to happen like this. The touring business is looking at 2021 at the earliest. It’s going to be even longer if we continue on this path. So please, help us help each other. Help us help people understand what is at stake here.

In the meantime, we will be providing as much entertainment as we can with these shows that we have filmed. We plan on doing some more to take us into the new year. It’s not touring, but it’s better than sitting around doing nothing and watching your world crumble away.

Getting together with the band and friends to make music has been a much needed exercise for me, the band, and the crew. Music fills us with hope. It serves up a goal. It often works as a catalyst for everything we love and hold dear. We all want to be in a crowded room again sweating, dancing, screaming, singing along to all the songs we love. For this Quarantunes, we wanted to play one of your favorites (This will probably be the opening song at our shows when we get to do them again...just saying). I can just hear the crowd’s reaction when we hit that first chord. It’ll be glorious. We will get there. But we need to get there together. It’s the only way. *This is a significantly upgraded version from my original posted Video. I recently came across another DVD copy and incorporated it's moderately better extra footage of the documentary sections into this updated composite version.


At least 25 years ago some friends bought me a bootleg VHS Tape at a record show of Creedence Clearwater Revival containing footage both from the Royal Albert Hall show and what is known as the "Lost Oakland Tape".. The footage had been bounced from VHS to VHS and was pretty much unwatchable for all but the most ardent CCR fan (which I am indeed...) and despite the poor quality I fell in love with this little Oakland documentary which showed John Fogerty to be a great thinker as well as a great songwriter and musician. In recent years there are many CCR DVD bootlegs containing the individual performances found in the Oakland tape in varying quality but much of the documentary footage had been cut out. Another strange piece of the puzzle is a Live Concert album released as the 'Royal Albert Hall' Concert was actually recorded in Oakland as part of this Concert documentary broadcast. Lacking an easy route to obtain a complete copy of the still unreleased "Lost Oakland Broadcast" I took it upon myself as a side-project to pool the media bits and pieces I had and reconstruct the entire film with old and new footage as well as syncing in the superior Live Concert recordings to the filmed Concert performances. Along the way I worked to salvage the footage as much as I could and upscaled it to HD. For the Video geeks reading I upscaled to HD with Topaz Labs Video Enhance AI and used Cinelerra-GG to edit.

5 things you can do with an EQ pedal

-adjust eq after an overdrive or distortion to sculpt the overall sound
-bump up 6.4k to get a bit more 'glassy' of a tone
-Use it like a volume booster
-use it like a gain booster
-run it into the effects loop to sculpt the overall sound of not only the pedals, but the distortion channel on the amp as well
-get more "bedroom friendly" volumes without affecting the tone too drastically

Note that this isn't a be all-end all of EQ pedals, and this is demonstrating the Graphic EQ as well... parametric eq's have other tricks they can do too 😉

So what we have here is we have a few pedals that you might find on a typical gig, minus the chorus pedal. This is probably a typical scenario that I would travel to a gig with. It's not on the pedal board. It's not hard-wired. I like that, so I can mix and match as I choose. Right now what i have is, I have a guitar going into the volume pedal first, then that signal's going right into my overdrive pedal. From there it's travelling to a chorus pedal, this could be anything else, a phaser. It could be anything of your choosing as can any of these pedals. From the chorus it goes to the delay and finally into this Strymon Flint, which is a tremolo and reverb pedal.

Now far as what the order means here, the best way that I like to think about it is I treat, for example, the Flint is a reverb and tremolo pedal. I like natural sounding reverb and natural sounding tremolo. I always treat that like it's coming from the amp, so I just pretend that's not even there. I pretend like it's inside the amp and what that means is, it's the first thing that comes out of the amp and in that way, any signal that comes out of your guitar is, that's going to hit it last.

The last thing in the chain would be then the delay and the reason for that, is that any signal that you have and also the way it reacts with the volume pedal, you want to be able to have the delay trail, without it getting cut off. And that's why the volume pedal comes first, as you hear in this example. I back off the volume pedal, you can hear the trails of delay still going. If I intensify the delay, you'll hear it, and also swell in. So that's a good reason to have the delay last in the chain. So experiment with that and come up with your own order and come up with your own settings.

The Beatles did a few covers of Carl Perkins songs. I eliminated a few verses and merged the two solos. Harrison used his Tennessean. I used a 1966 Gretsch Country Gentleman [which sounds quite similar] played through a Vox AD15VT set to AC30TB w/ no effects. Min Bass, Min Mid, Max Treble. .010 -.046 nickel plated wire wound strings. The amp was close-mic recorded with a Tascam DR07 digital recorder and then mixed with the backing tracks created from the original recording. My performance, with compression, is mixed with the backing tracks and the whole mix is limited. This is the way the Beatles recorded these early tunes. It is difficult to duplicate the sound with just the guitar and amp. No tabs.

My videos are really intended for accomplished guitarists who want to polish up their Beatles repertoire and can benefit from "seeing" how a song is played - I am not a guitar teacher and do not provide tabs. I welcome specific questions. If the various chords that I am playing are not familiar to you then I would suggest that you visit some of the many free guitar chord sites. I had to learn these songs by listening to vinyl records and watching live performances on tv.

This is my restored and overhauled Fender Pro Reverb amp. It's an export model from 1980, 70W with push/pull Master Volume. I go through the different things I had to replace or repair and give a sound demo.

The Colour Box's 100 per cent analogue circuitry seeks to bring the sound of a classic Neve console to a pedal. Use it as a direct recording preamp for guitar, bass, vocals or... well, anything you like, really. you can also use it to overdrive an amp for a very different take on gain make-up and overdrive. Clean sounds? Oh yes!

Daniel is playing his Fender Custom Shop 63 Telecaster and Mick is playing his Collings 290 DC S and Fender American Vintage ’62 Stratocaster. Amps used are a Hamstead Artist 20 and an AER Compact 60 3.

The Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork polyphonic pitch shifter pedal transposes an instrument’s pitch over a +/- three octave range and features three modes which allow the pitch to be transposed up, down or both, simultaneously. The pitch shift amount can be set to a fixed interval or continuously varied by an expression pedal or control voltage.

The controls are straightforward and intuitive. An 11-position Shift switch selects the maximum transposition interval ranging from D (Detune), a shift of 17 cents, through Minor 2nd, Major 2nd, Major 3rd, Perfect 4th, Perfect 5th, Major 6th, Minor 7th, 1 Octave, 2 Octaves and 3 Octaves. A three position toggle switch controls whether the pitch is transposed up, down or both. In Dual mode, two pitch-shifted signals are output. One follows the shift knob as if in the Up position while the other creates a harmony. Dual Mode settings include M3 up + P5 up, P5 up + 1 Oct down, 1 Oct up + 1 Oct down and many others. A Blend knob controls the mix of the dry signal and the effected signal, and an EXP jack enables the player to control pitch and glissando with an expression pedal.

The Latch button selects Latch or Momentary mode which affects how the footswitch and EXP input behave. In Latch mode, the footswitch toggles between effect on and buffered bypass each time it’s pressed and the EXP input continuously varies pitch. In Momentary mode the effect is only on while the footswitch is depressed and when it is released the Pitch Fork goes into bypass.

In Latch mode the EXP input controls pitch shift amount, ranging from unity to the interval set by the Shift knob, and pitch varies continuously throughout the expression pedal’s range. In Momentary mode the EXP input controls glissando rate for the Pitch Fork’s footswitch. When the bypass footswitch is pressed, the Pitch Fork jumps from bypass to the interval set by the Shift knob. The amount of time it takes to reach that new note is the glissando rate. When the footswitch is released the pitch will return to unity at the same rate. That glissando time can vary between 4 milliseconds to two seconds depending on the heel/toe position of the expression pedal. The default glissando rate is 60 milliseconds when nothing is plugged into the EXP input.

The Pitch Fork comes equipped with an EHX 9.6DC-200mA power supply and also runs on a 9Volt battery.

We are testing the Harley Benton (Joyo) American Sound Pedal, which gives you a Fender-like tone with a lot of flexibility, due to the Voice function and the three band EQ. from a nice subtle overdrive to a singing lead, everything is possible. OR, you could just color your clean tone to be a little bit more "clean" !

♪ Whenever I hear this song I think of home. You see when I came home from the hospital, it was to my home on the bayou; the happiest place it the world. When I was younger and you wanted to find me, all you had to do was look on the bayou; from morning till night I was out having fun, during school breaks, on my boat. I knew those bayous like the back of my hand. The song is the first track on Creedence Clearwater Revival's second album, Bayou Country. It was released as the B-side of the single "Proud Mary" and reached #2 on the Billboard Charts. As the songwriter, John Fogerty, commented: "Born on the Bayou" was vaguely like "Porterville," about a mythical childhood and a heat-filled time, the Fourth of July. I put it in the swamp where, of course, I had never lived. It was late as I was writing. I was trying to be a pure writer, no guitar in hand, visualizing and looking at the bare walls of my apartment. Tiny apartments have wonderful bare walls, especially when you can't afford to put anything on them. "Chasing down a hoodoo." Hoodoo is a magical, mystical, spiritual, non-defined apparition, like a ghost or a shadow, not necessarily evil, but certainly other-worldly. I was getting some of that imagery from Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters." No copy infraction intended on my videos.

I was asked about how I implement compression in my signal chain, so I obliged. This is not a compression 101, just 3 thoughts I had that were different to the myriad of other videos out there and show how I use it, without painstakingly going through every dial.

In this episode, Tal Morris plugs a humbucker-equipped guitar into the Fat Sandwich. The Holy Fire 9 is groundbreaking.
This ultra-wide bandwidth pedal responds exactly like a tube without changing your tone. And it's unbelievably quiet.

Clean Boost - from off to +12dB.
Overdrive - analog wave shaping tube simulator technology.
Distortion - Hard edge clipping circuitry.
Hi-cut filter to shape edges for vintage speaker simulation.

Unique LED interaction indicates the transition to wave shaping.
Pristine buffered bypass, True bypass optional.
Uses 9VDC 250mA* standard centre-negative.
Small footprint 3.1" x 4.25".

Typical distortion relies on ridiculous gain and clunky forced-clipping, which creates unwanted noise. Which in turn needs to be filtered out—and that makes for thin, nasal tone. But the Holy Fire 9 uses proprietary wave-shaping circuitry to give you all the tube-tastic crunch you could ever want with all of your tone, intact. No added noise.

This makes the Holy Fire 9 overdrive distortion a very musical pedal that responds to your touch. Play with a softer attack and velocity for a cleaner sound, or dig in to get as much grit as you want. You control the effect with your playing dynamics and the volume of your instrument. Great for guitar or bass! Like a tube preamp in a pedal, but without the bulky, fragile and expensive tubes and transformers.

Quick Start Guide

1. Start with "G" (Gain) at around noon to 2 o' clock, "O" (Overdrive) and "D" (Distortion) all the way off (Counter-Clockwise) and the "~" (Hi-Cut) all the way up (Clockwise). At this point as you click the pedal in and out the sound should be pretty much the same.

2. Then as you turn up the "O" the level will increase and begin to overdrive. You may want to turn down the "G" to keep the volume at unity.

3. Then as you turn up the "D" the sound will begin to clip and past 2 o' clock it will start to compress and you may want to bump-up the "G" to make-up a little volume.

4. The "~" Hi-Cut control will shave off the highs as you turn in down.

5. The "O" and "D" knobs interact with each other to create unique blends of the two.
